About

Tandy Malmstrom is a Canadian artist currently operating out of Calgary, Alberta. His artistic interests run the gamut from portrait and figures, to landscape, to still life. He's constantly looking for new subjects and concepts, and spends the lion's share of his studio time experimenting with different methods and fine tuning his technique. Although he has worked with most mediums and methods, his primary focus is in oil painting.

Tandy began his formal education at Sheridan College, in Oakville Ontario. He moved on to study the Old Master's style of oil painting at the Paul Richard James Atelier in Hamilton, Ontario. Moving to Alberta, he then proceeded to study alla prima painting under Doug Levitt. Somewhere in the juxtaposition of these two techniques is where he's built his style.
